Bio

Reuben Kidd is a UK based Photographer, Filmmaker and Graphic Designer who grew up in the South West of England. His photographic work explores themes of British culture, gentrification, sense of place and human presence. With his practice he likes to focus his lens on the harsh, unfiltered aspects of everyday life and depict reality in a playful and creative way. With his moving image work he likes to focus on current affairs giving people the platform to have their voice heard and create a structured discussion.

My photographic work focuses more on the space we occupy as opposed to the people that fill the frame. My practice is informed by themes of human presence and representation. I am interested in how an image can tell a story by looking at the space we occupy and the objects we interact with.

From a young age I have been interested in the topic of nature reclaiming and a lot of my original work documents abandoned buildings that have been neglected and then reclaimed. Having grown up in Minehead Somerset, in the south west of England, I have always had an interest for the Great British landscape.
